Koreans Live Longer, But Men Still Die Sooner Than Women

      December 07, 2023 08:19

Koreans live longer these days, but women consistently outlive men.
Among the 120 centenarians in Korea, the male-female ratio stands at 1:5, down from 1:12 two decades ago.
But women still outlive men by seven years on average, unchanged from 20 years ago, and the situation is similar overseas.
The gap becomes even wider among people aged over 105, which presents a conundrum for geriatric experts.
