The news that top actresses Song Hye-kyo and Jeon Yeo-been have been cast in the starring roles in an occult movie is already creating high expectations and excitement.
The movie, tentatively titled "Dark Nuns," is a female version of the 2015 hit film "The Priests," which attracted 5.44 million viewers.
It will be Song's first movie since "My Brilliant Life" in 2014.
It is also generating buzz because Jeon, one of Korea's most sought-after actresses, chose it as her next project after director Kim Jee-woon's black comedy "Cobweb," which was invited to this year's Cannes Film Festival.
"Dark Nuns" will focus on two nuns who perform exorcisms, while "The Priests" revolves around clergymen who try to save a girl from evil.
Filming will start in the first half of next year.
