Korean Instant Noodle Exports Surpass W1 Trillion for 1st Time

Exports of Korean instant noodles have reached an all-time high, surpassing the W1 trillion mark for the first time ever (US$1=W1,292).

The Korea Customs Service said on Monday that total instant noodle exports between January and October reached US$785.25 million, up 24.7 percent on-year, already exceeding last year's total of $765.41 million.

At the current exchange rate, this is equivalent to over W1 trillion, and is a record since the release of the popular dish 60 years ago.

Instant noodle exports have risen for nine consecutive years since 2015.
