The weather will continue to fluctuate between late-summer and early-winter patterns for the time being, the Korea Meteorological Administration predicted Sunday.
Autumn rains have only marginally reduced the unseasonable heat, but a cold snap will grip the country from Tuesday, with the mercury dipping to 1 degree Celsius as cold winds blow from the north.
The entire country will be drenched until Monday afternoon with up to 40 mm of rain per hour. The rain will stop in most parts on Monday afternoon, but will continue in central parts until early Tuesday morning.

Monday's morning lows ranged from 15 to 21 degrees, and the highest daytime temperatures will hover between 16 and 23 degrees.
But on Tuesday temperatures will drop by more than 10 degrees in the capital region and Gangwon, North Chungcheong and North Gyeongsang provinces.
At the weekend the mercury is expected to dip below zero.
