A cold front moving in from the north on Thursday is expected to result in the fall's first frost in the mountains of Gangwon Province, the Korea Meteorological Administration said on Wednesday.
Morning lows dipped below 10 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country on Thursday.
According to the KMA, temperatures in northern Gyeonggi Province and mountainous parts of Gangwon Province are expected to fall below five degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday morning. Some parts of Gangwon Province will see ice.

Daytime highs will remain low between 18 and 22 degrees on Thursday after rain the previous day, and temperatures are expected to drop even more on Friday.
But the mercury will rise to normal levels for the time of year this weekend. Clear skies are forecast until Oct. 14, while morning lows will hover between 10 to 17 degrees and daytime highs between 20 and 25 degrees, perfect for outings to see the autumn colors.
