Clear skies are expected on Friday, on which Chuseok falls this year, giving people a clear view of the full moon at night, the Korea Meteorological Administration said on Tuesday.
The rain that has been falling across the country will subside starting on Wednesday afternoon, leading to typical autumn weather until Friday, characterized by clear skies, cool morning temperatures and warm daytime conditions.
The full moon will be visible in most parts of the country on Friday, albeit between scattered clouds.
According to the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, the moon will rise at 6:23 p.m. on Chuseok night over Seoul and be fully round at 6:58 p.m., when it is positioned directly opposite Earth and the sun.
A cold air mass is expected to move down from the north from Saturday until Oct. 3, causing temperatures to drop. Morning lows will dip to 10 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country.
