Around 600 veterinary clinics across the country will remain open during the upcoming Chuseok or Korean Thanksgiving holiday, nearly double the 318 that were open during the Lunar New Year holiday earlier this year.
This is expected to ease owners' worries about their pets suffering from stress and exhaustion during the long holiday or getting sick from eating holiday foods.

Information on the 600 clinics can be found at the website of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and at animal.go.kr, the ministry said Thursday.
Pet owners can check nearby veterinary clinics by region and date during the holiday, which runs from Sept. 28 to Oct. 3.
Some clinics will also be providing 24-hour emergency services.
