V of Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS, sold over 2.1 million copies of his first solo album "Layover" in the first week of its release, his management agency Big Hit Music said last Friday.
It is the highest first-week sales figure for a solo K-pop singer in history, making V the first singer to surpass 2 million sales both as a solo singer and as a member of a group.
V's bandmate Ji-min sold 1.45 million copies of his solo album "Face" in the first week of its release, and Suga sold 1.28 million of "D-Day."
The three members hold the top three spots among the five solo K-pop singers whose albums have surpassed 1 million sales in the first week of release.
