Actress Jeon Yeo-been took on a new challenge by playing a dual role in Netflix's new Korean series "A Time Called You," which was released last week.
"Playing a dual role was a task that I really wanted to do well," she said in an interview earlier this week. "I was happy to play characters that I had to put a lot of thought into, but it was also very challenging."
Jeon plays a high school student and an adult woman spanning her 20s to 30s.
The series, a remake of the Taiwanese drama "Someday or One Day," tells the story of a woman who still misses her boyfriend who died a year earlier. She travels back in time to 1998, where she wakes up in the body of a high school girl and meets a boy who looks just like her late boyfriend.
"As all people crave love, they hope the one they are destined to love will recognize them. I think many people share this feeling," she said. "I really liked the ending, in which the two lovers meet each other after all."
She spent the whole past year on the project, so she is excited to see the series released but is still wary of checking viewers' responses.
"Besides love between lovers, there are many moments of love that we want to remember in our hearts. The drama made me recall those moments. I'm curious about what moments of love viewers will remember when they watch it."
Jeon made her acting debut in the 2015 film "The Treacherous" and grabbed attention with the TV series "Be Melodramatic" and "Vincenzo." Her filmography shows she does not restrict herself to a certain role or genre.
Asked what roles she wants to take on in the future, she said, "I prefer not to think about it. As an actress, I want to be like a blank sheet of paper."
