Ryu Hyun-jin of the Toronto Blue Jays suffered his second loss of the season on Wednesday.
Starting in an away game against the Oakland Athletics, he pitched five innings and allowed two runs while giving up five hits and one walk and striking out five.
In the fourth inning with a 1-0 lead and two outs with a runner on second base, he gave up a two-run home run to Carlos Perez. Ryu exited the game with the team trailing 2-1 and the Blue Jays were defeated 5-2.

Last June, he underwent left elbow ligament reconstruction surgery and was out for more than a year. After a loss in his first post-rehabilitation start against the Baltimore Orioles in early August, in which he gave up four runs in five innings, he went undefeated in five games, posting three wins.
Then a setback came against the struggling Oakland Athletics, who rank at the bottom overall so far this season among all 30 teams in Major League Baseball.
Ryu's season record stands at three wins and two losses in seven games, and his ERA has worsened slightly from 2.48 to 2.65.
