1st Chinese Cruise Ship in 6 Years Docks at Jeju

There was muted excitement in the tourism industry of Jeju Island on Thursday as the first Chinese cruise ship in six years docked on its shores.

The Blue Dream Star carrying 680 passengers made its way to Korea after Beijing lifted a ban on group tours to Korea on Aug. 10.

They are expected to spend some welcome cash on the resort island's tourist businesses, many of which have made the questionable decision in recent years to price themselves out of the range of domestic travelers.
