Ryu Hyun-jin Picks up 3rd Straight Win for Toronto Blue Jays

Ryu Hyun-jin of the Toronto Blue Jays picked up his third consecutive win in a home game against the Cleveland Guardians last Saturday.

Ryu went five innings, giving up three runs while striking out five, helping the team win the game 8-3 to end a three-game losing streak.

Saturday's victory followed wins in his previous two starts against the Chicago Cubs on Aug. 13 and the Cincinnati Reds on Aug. 20.

After undergoing elbow surgery in June last year, Ryu returned earlier this month after a year-long rehabilitation.

In his five games since returning, he has three wins and one loss. His ERA rose from 1.89 to 2.25 after Saturday's win.

Ryu is expected to take the mound in an away game against the Colorado Rockies on Sept. 1.
