LG Chem World's 3rd Most Valuable Chemical Brand

LG Chem has been named the world's third most valuable brand among the top 25 chemical companies for the second year running.

According to British consultancy Brand Finance, the brand value of the LG Group's chemical subsidiary is US$4.53 billion, up 5.3 percent from last year.

LG Chem rose from fifth place in 2018 to third in 2022 and is the only Korean company among the top 25 global players.

Germany's BASF ranked first ($8.36 billion), followed by Saudi Arabia's SABIC ($4.77 billion). In fourth place is the U.S.' Dow ($4.29 billion), whose value fell 0.6 percent.

LG Chem has been focusing on new business areas such as eco-friendly and rechargeable battery materials and new drugs.
