Kim Min-jae of Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli was named the best defender among under-23 players in Italy's Serie A and also included in the league's Team of the Season last week.
Kim, who led Napoli to end their 33-year wait to win the Italian league title, was chosen as the best defender, beating out his teammate Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Theo Hernández of AC Milan.
Kim was also included among the league's best 11 players of the season, which was decided by votes from fans and reporters.
Kim is about to return to Korea as he will start three weeks of military training on June 15 to fulfill a condition of his exemption from mandatory military service, which he was granted after Korea won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia.
