Kim Ha-seong of the San Diego Padres hit his fifth home run of the season on Wednesday, scoring 100 career runs in Major League Baseball.
In an away game against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park in Washington, Kim smacked a solo homer in the top of the fifth inning to narrow the Nationals' lead to 5-3.
But the Padres eventually lost the game with no change in the score, falling short of clinching three consecutive victories.

Kim achieved the 100-run milestone in his 313th appearances since his debut in 2021. He scored 27 runs that year, 58 in 2022 and has 15 so far this season.
With one hit, one RBI and one run in three at-bats in Wednesday's game, he also reached 109 career RBIs and was able to raise his batting average from 0.235 to 0.237.
The Padres now rank fourth in the National League West with 23 wins and 27 losses.
