Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday became the first Asian player to post 50 assists in the English Premier League.
Son started Spurs' away match against Southampton and recorded an assist by threading a perfect pass to set up Pedro Porro's opener.
He is also on the brink of achieving another EPL milestone as he has scored 99 goals in 258 appearances for Spurs. Only 33 players have scored 100 goals in the league's history, and Son will be the first Asian player to join the exclusive club if he adds one more.
Spurs, currently in fourth place on the league table, scored three goals but tied Saturday's match against the league's last-placed team after showing a disappointing performance overall.
On Monday, Son returns to Korea to join the national team. He is expected to play in new coach Jürgen Klinsmann's debut matches at the helm against Colombia in Ulsan on Friday and Uruguay in Seoul on March 28.
