Retailers are focusing more on Korea's burgeoning elderly population by making things as easy as possible for them in a confusing digital world.
CGV Piccadilly 1958 in Jongno, central Seoul, set up a separate self-service kiosk for elderly customers four months ago with detailed explanations how to buy tickets.
Order Queen, one of Korea's biggest manufacturers of self-service machines, is developing machines that are activated by voice command in robot-assisted or unmanned restaurants, coffee shops and others.
Face recognition will help identify elderly customers to offer them customized options.

No Brand Burger has started providing special guidance at 20 outlets in Seoul frequented by elderly people. Customers who have problems using self-service counters can page a staffer who offers assistance.
Rival hamburger outlet Lotteria and coffee shop Angel-in-Us even offer short training courses for customers.
