The second part of Netflix's hit Korean series "The Glory" shot to the No. 3 spot on the streaming giant's chart of non-English TV series after its release last Friday.
The limited series starring Song Hye-kyo tells the story of a woman taking revenge on her persecutors for brutally bullying her in high school.
The first eight episodes released late December were an instant hit, and the second eight episodes did not disappoint. They shot to the top in 26 countries including Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.
Ironically An Gil-ho, the producer of the show, has been accused of bullying himself while attending a high school in the Philippines. Responding to anonymous online allegations posted on a forum for Korean Americans last week, An initially denied them but apologized through his lawyer on Sunday.
"My emotions ran high when I found out that my girlfriend had become the subject of ridicule at school because of me and ended up inflicting an indelible wound on another person," he said in the statement. "I seek heartfelt forgiveness from those who were hurt and wish to convey my apology personally if given the opportunity."
