Golfer Ko Jin-young is returning to competition at the Honda LPGA Thailand on Thursday after taking a short break due to a wrist injury that plagued her at the end of last season and cost her the world No.1 spot.
The no-cut event at the Siam Country Club in Pattaya features 72 players including the world's top golfers.
It is Ko's first tournament in three months since she tied for 33rd at the CME Group Tour Championship in November, which ended the last season.
"I have worked hard to ensure I don't make the same mistakes, as I had a hard time last year," said Ko, who has fallen to No. 5 in the world rankings. "I tried to regain my form while training in Vietnam and focused more on my swing. It's not yet 100 percent perfect but has gotten much better."

Current world No. 1 Lydia Ko of New Zealand is eyeing her third consecutive win at the event after winning the Aramco Saudi Ladies International on the Ladies European Tour last week -- her first event since getting married -- and the CME Group Tour Championship.
Other top competitors include Nelly Korda of the U.S. (No. 2), Lee Min-jee of Australia (No. 3) and Brooke Henderson of Canada, who won this season's opener, the Hilton Grand Vacations TOC, in January.
