Star screenwriter Kim Eun-sook, the woman behind global hit "Mr. Sunshine," returns with a revenge drama on Netflix.
"School bullying has always been a major issue for me because I'm the mother of a high-school girl," Kim said at a press event for the new series "The Glory" on Tuesday.
She was flanked by director Ahn Gil-ho and cast members including Song Hye-kyo and Lim Ji-yeon.
"I read many stories of bullying victims. They just wanted sincere apologies from the perpetrators. I thought about what they can get from it, and realized they want to reclaim their lost dignity, so that inspired the title of the series," she said.

The show tells the story of a woman who suffered brutal bullying in high school and takes revenge on her persecutors.
Song Hye-kyo, who plays the leading character, says she is showing a different side of herself.
"I've always wanted to take on a role like this," she said. "When I read the script I was heartbroken and stunned. I wanted to express my character as a strong woman rather than a victim. Watching the dailies, I noticed facial expressions that I didn't know I had, which was thrilling."
The first eight episodes of the two-part series will drop on Dec. 30, and the second part in March next year.
