Heavy snow in southern Korea and Jeju Island brought all traffic to a standstill over the weekend.

One-hundred flights were canceled on the resort island, stranding thousands of travelers as the blizzard swept across the island and over 30 cm of snow fell on Mt. Halla.
Huge numbers of tourists converged at the airport trying to get hold of any available seats. Flights finally resumed after 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Water pipes burst across the country as temperatures plummeted way below freezing.
