North Korea will be able to attend the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The North was banned from the games after it declined to participate in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, which were held last year instead due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But the International Olympic Committee on Tuesday said the suspension ends automatically on Dec. 31.
North Korea did not send any athletes to the Tokyo games for fear of the virus. As a result, it was suspended from the Winter Olympics in Beijing early this year.
Under the IOC Charter, countries have a duty to participate by sending athletes.
