Ground Broken on SK On's Joint Venture Battery Plants in U.S.

Construction of what will be the U.S.' largest battery plants for electric vehicles began in Glendale, Kentucky on Monday.

The day finally came after Korean battery maker SK On agreed late last year to join hands with U.S. auto giant Ford to build three EV plants -- two in Glendale and one in Stanton, Tennessee -- through BlueOvalSK, a joint venture. 

It hopes to complete construction by the first quarter of 2025.
