Exports of kimchi to the U.S. hit an all-time high from January to November.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on Monday, kimchi shipments to the U.S. reached US$ 26.7 million, up 1.7 percent from last year.
They have been rising since 2018 when they stood at $9 million.
In terms of volume, shipments reached 7,991 tons, up 9.2 percent.
The ministry links the rise to the growing popularity of Korean culture overseas.
