Winter Arrives with Vengeance

A cold wave warning was issued for Seoul and most other parts of the country on Wednesday as winter arrived with a vengeance. 

It was the first time in more than a decade that a cold advisory has been issued in November.

Morning lows in Seoul fell to -7 degrees on Wednesday, a drop of more than 15 degrees from the previous day. 

The lowest morning temperature was -11 degrees in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said a trough of low pressure was superseded by a cold anticyclone. Snow fell in some parts of Chungcheong and Gyeonggi provinces.
