Ma Dong-seok Excited to Show Lighter Side of Himself in New Comedy

Actor Ma Dong-seok stars in a new comedy set for release this week.

"Men of Plastic" is about a man who joins hands with a plastic surgeon to start his own business in Seoul's upscale Apgujeong district, which is saturated with plastic surgery clinics.

Ma, who is mostly recognized for playing tough and violent characters in action-packed films, expressed his hope that audiences will find the new side of him interesting.

"It would be fun for audiences to see different sides of me in the comedy, unlike my previous roles in hit crime action series like 'The Outlaws' and 'The Roundup: No Way Out,'" he said at a press event on Monday just a few days ahead of its release. "I hope they will enjoy watching it."

Ma not only stars in the comedy but was also involved in producing it.

It hits local theaters on Wednesday.
