Korea Post will issue commemorative stamps marking the 40th anniversary of Korea's professional baseball league.
It said on Thursday that 4,000 strips of stamps featuring the 40 best players in history will come out on Nov. 28.
They were selected based on votes by fans, sports officials and others between July and September.
Former star pitcher Sun Dong-yol garnered the most votes, followed by other famed pitchers like Choi Dong-won and Song Jin-woo. The list of legendary stars also includes Lee Jong-beom, one of the best all-round players of the 1990s and the father of Kiwoom Heroes outfielder Lee Jung-hoo, and former Samsung Lions slugger Lee Seung-yeop, who is returning as manager for the Doosan Bears from the coming season.
Unlike conventional ones, the special stamps have high-tech anti-forgery features, with both the front and back sides decorated with photos of each player along with their individual profiles and major career stats.
They can be bought at post offices or online and each strip costs W120,000 (US$1=W1,328).
