K-pop acts won a slew of gongs at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Dusseldorf, Germany on Sunday.
Girl group Blackpink won Best Metaverse Performance for their virtual concert featured in the mobile game Battlegrounds, while Blackpink member Lisa won the Best K-Pop award for her debut solo single "Lalisa."
Boy band Seventeen won their first gongs at the awards -- Best New and Best Push. The Best New award recognizes rising stars, while Best Push goes to the act that performed best during the MTV Push Campaign.
Neither group could participate in the awards ceremony due to concert tours, but they expressed their gratitude to their fans for their support through videos.
Boy band Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS, bagged the Biggest Fans gong for the fifth year in a row, while Tomorrow X Together won their first trophy for Best Asia Act.
