Bodies of Foreign Victims of Halloween Stampede Flown Home

All but six of the foreigners who died in the Itaewon tragedy have been taken back to their home countries.

Out of 26 foreign victims from 14 countries of the Halloween stampede, two have been buried here and only four await repatriation in the coming days.

The Foreign Ministry has paid compensation to the families of 18 foreign victims. Each received W20 million compensation and up to W15 million for funeral costs (US$1=W1,365).

Meanwhile, out of 197 people who were hospitalized after the stampede, 178 have gone home while 19 are still in hospital.
