North Korea fired three ballistic missiles toward the East Sea on Thursday, South Korea's military authorities said.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff said North Korea fired what presumed to be an intercontinental ballistic missile from Sunan near Pyongyang at around 7:40 a.m. and two short-range missiles from Kaechon, South Pyongan Province about an hour later.

Thursday's provocation came just a day after the North launched about two dozen missiles, including the one that fell into South Korean territorial waters in the morning, followed by more than 100 artillery shells later in the day.

North Korea is expected to continue provocations while massive South Korea-U.S. aerial drills are conducted here and the U.S. gears up for mid-term elections next week.
