Coronavirus infections in Korea have rebounded to over 50,000 cases a day after the Halloween weekend for the first time in a month and a half, reaching 58,376 on Tuesday morning.
The number fell slightly to 54,766 on Wednesday morning, but with the approach of cold weather, concerns are growing over a resurgence of COVID this winter.
The last time daily infections surpassed 50,000 was on Sept. 16.

But coronavirus booster shots using the latest modified vaccines are available to any adult over 18. Until recently, adults aged 18 to 59 who are not in high-risk groups were also able to get the new boosters, but only leftover doses on a first come, first serve basis.
Deaths and severe cases have remained more or less the same, at 30 and 303 on Wednesday.
