Korea will start its training for the World Baseball Classic in Miami in February next year as the quadrennial international tournament between professional leagues opens the following month.
The event was originally set for 2021 but has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Four groups consisting of five countries each play in a round-robin format, with the top two from each group advancing to the second round of the tournament, which will run from March 8 to 21.
Korea is grouped with Australia, China, Japan and the Czech Republic and will be led by KT Wiz manager Lee Kang-chul.
Korea's best performance so far is its second-place finish in 2009.
