Kim Ha-seong of the San Diego Padres is among three finalists for U.S. Major League Baseball's Gold Glove Award for the shortstop position in the National League.
Kim was named along with Miguel Rojas of the Miami Marlins and Dansby Swanson of the Atlanta Braves. None of the three has ever won the Gold Glove Award.
If he wins, Kim will be the first Korean baseball player to win the award, which honors the best defenders in each position in each MLB league.
The winners for 18 defensive positions are decided by MLB managers and coaches, who are allowed to vote within their league but cannot vote for players on their own teams.
The winners will be announced after the World Series.
