The first snow of the season was spotted on Mt. Seorak in Gangwon Province on Monday, nine days earlier than last year, as the mercury dipped to the lowest level so far this fall. Temperatures are expected to fall even further until Wednesday.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, a cold air mass moved in from the northwest on Monday, chilling the morning low across the country below 10 degrees Celsius. It fell to 9.3 degrees in Seoul, while the daytime high nationwide ranged from 10 to 19 degrees.

On Tuesday, morning lows hovered between four and 13 degrees, while the daytime high will range from 16 to 22 degrees.
On Wednesday morning, temperatures will fall below five degrees in most parts and to zero in some parts of Gangwon, Gyeonggi, North Chungcheong and North Gyeongsang provinces.
