Blackpink have achieved another milestone by debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with their new full-length album, "Born Pink."
The quartet are the first K-pop girl band to rise to the top of the chart. Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS, reached the top spot in 2018, followed by SuperM in 2019 and Stray Kids this year. They are all male groups.
"Born Pink" has already reached the top of the U.K. Official Albums Chart, and the album's lead-off single, "Shut Down," hit No. 1 on Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Global chart, so topping the Billboard 200 makes Blackpink the first K-pop group to achieve the "triple crown" -- a feat that has so far eluded even BTS.
The album is "both the first chart-topper for the K-pop quartet and by an all-female group [since 2008]," Billboard said.
The girls previously reached No. 2 with their first full-length album, "The Album," in 2020.
