Yum Jung-ah Returns to Big Screen in Jukebox Musical

Yum Jung-ah will return to the big screen with the musical "Life Is Beautiful," which is set for release in late this month.

At a press event for the film in Seoul earlier this week, Yum said she had always longed to star in a musical.

"I did my very best because I really wanted to play in a musical. I was quite confident at first, but I soon realized that everything was new and difficult. Even lip-syncing on the set was hard for me," she recalled.

The first Korean jukebox musical using classic pop songs revolves around a woman who asks her husband to find her first lover for her birthday.

On a nostalgic trip all over the country with her husband played by Ryu Seung-ryong to find her childhood sweetheart, they eventually find true love and learn important life lessons.

The film will hit local theaters on Sept. 28.
