The film "Confidential Assignment 2: International" starring Hyun Bin and Yoo Hae-jin dominated the local box office over the Chuseok holiday.
The action comedy sold 2.1 million tickets from last Friday to Sunday and hit the 3 million viewer mark on Monday, six days after its release.
The sequel to "Confidential Assignment," also starring Daniel Henney, revolves around three detectives who team up to round up an international crime organization.

According to theater chain CGV on Monday, people in their 20s accounted for 28.4 percent of total viewers, followed by those in their 30s (26.2 percent), 40s (23.8 percent) and 50s (18.1 percent).
As there were no other big movies, another comedy -- "6/45" starring Go Kyung-pyo and Lee Yi-kyung -- ranked second.
"'Confidential Assignment 2' is popular not just because it came out in time for Chuseok but because it is a comedy unlike previous summer blockbusters," said movie critic Kim Hyung-ho. "As 'Hansan: Rising Dragon,' 'Emergency Declaration' and 'Hunt' were dark and serious films, demand for comedies rose among young moviegoers."
