An average of 6.03 million people will hit the road every day during the Chuseok holiday, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on Wednesday.
That is up a whopping 14 percent from last year's locked-down harvest festival.
"Some 30.17 million people are expected to travel over the next five days," the ministry said.
Most or 90.6 percent are expected to use their own cars, followed by buses (3.8 percent), trains (three percent), airplanes (1.7 percent), and ships (0.9 percent).

Traffic out of Seoul is expected to be most congested on Friday morning, and Seoul-bound traffic will be busiest on Sunday.
About 5.42 million cars a day will hit the expressways, up 13.4 percent from last year and about 20 percent from a normal weekend.
"It will take more time to travel to people's ancestral hometowns than to return to Seoul during this year's Chuseok," the ministry warned, because there is only one day off in advance.
