Super typhoon Hinnamnor is heading north from Japan's southern islands and could shift course on Friday or Saturday and head toward Korea, the Korea Meteorological Administration warned Wednesday.
Hinnamnor rivals typhoon Maemi that ravaged Korea in 2003 in strength.

But the KMA said there are still several variables, including surrounding atmospheric pressure and it remains unclear if the typhoon will hit the Korean Peninsula. If it does it will probably affect Korea between Monday and Wednesday next week.
