Starting Monday, high-risk COVID-19 patients including the elderly and those with weakened immune systems will no longer get check-up calls when self-isolating at home.
Instead, they can go to hospitals and clinics if they need medical attention now that more facilities are equipped to treat coronavirus patients. However, there are some concerns about whether the elderly are always able to find a nearby medical facility in an emergency.

The latest uptick is also causing concern, as there were 287 severely ill patients on Monday, the most in two months.
But the daily tally of new infections dropped sharply to 44,689 from around 80,000 last week, probably because fewer people got tested over the weekend.
