Visitors to popular attractions in Seoul can now enjoy even greater access to the city's free Wi-Fi service.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said on Thursday it set up 4,530 wireless access points at tourist attractions and welfare facilities in the first half of this year, and plans to set up 2,000 more in the second half.

Now the free Wi-Fi service is available along the entire 5-km-long Cheonggye Stream as well as in a wider area of the Itaewon tourist district.

The city government started providing free Wi-Fi in public places in 2011 and has expanded the service to outdoor areas such as busy streets, parks and markets, with a total of 23,476 access points installed as of last year.
It aims to make free high-quality internet access available anywhere in Seoul.
