Korea drew 1-1 with China in the women's tournament of the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) E-1 Football Championship in Kashima, Japan on Saturday.

Korea took an early lead with Choe Yu-ri's opening goal in the 34th minute, but Wang Linlin of China leveled the score in the 76th minute.

Korea began the tournament with its sights set high, aiming to win its first championship title in 17 years, but after a loss to Japan and a draw with China in a round robin tournament, that now appears unlikely.

The Korean women led by English coach Colin Bell will play their last game against Taiwan on Tuesday.
