Girl group Aespa set a new record for a female K-pop band with their new album on Thursday.
Aespa's new EP "Girls," which was released on July 8, sold over 1 million copies within the first week of its release.

The previous first-week sales record was held by Blackpink, who sold close to 700,000 copies of their album "The Album" in 2020.
But Aespa, who debuted that year, are quickly rising to international stardom and even performed at the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, a popular U.S. music festival held in California in April.
