The crime action film "The Roundup" passed the 12-million-viewer mark on Sunday, according to the Korean Film Council.
The film starring Ma Dong-seok, a sequel to his 2017 hit "The Outlaws," sold 318,864 tickets over the weekend, taking accumulated sales to 12.04 million since its release on May 18.
That made the flick the 14th-biggest box-office hit of all time among Korean films, behind "A Taxi Driver," which drew 12.19 million viewers in 2017.
"The Roundup" attracted more than 1 million viewers in just the first two days after its release, 5 million in 10 days, 10 million in 25 days and 11 million in 31 days.
It is the first movie to cross the 10-million-viewer mark since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Also starring Son Suk-ku, the film revolves around a maverick policeman who heads to Vietnam to extradite a vicious hired killer who preys on tourists.
