The government on Wednesday unveiled a commemorative wristwatch made to mark President Yoon Suk-yeol’s inauguration.
All previous presidents have had commemorative watches made to present to guests at Cheong Wa Dae, which have become sought-after in the memorabilia trade.
Yoon gave a watch to 20 citizens who attended his inauguration. The presidential office said the watch was deigned "focusing on simplicity and practicality to reflect President Yoon's philosophy of pragmatism in government."
The dial is adorned with golden phoenixes and a rose of Sharon, Korea's national flower.
The manufacturer is a small watchmaker who has been in business for more than 20 years, according to the presidential office.
