K-pop juggernaut Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS, won three trophies at the U.S. Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday. They clinched gongs in the categories of Top Duo or Group, Top Song Sales Artist and Top Selling Song.
This is the sixth consecutive year that BTS have won at one of the three major music awards in the U.S. since 2017, when they became the first K-pop group to win Top Social Artist.
BTS have now won 12 Billboard awards in total, breaking the previous record among duos or groups of 11 held by Destiny's Child.

BTS competed in the Top Song Sales Artist and Top Selling Song categories with Adele, Dua Lipa and Ed Sheeran to win them for the second consecutive time. They also beat four-time Grammy winner Silk Sonic to clinch the Top Duo or Group award for the third time, after 2019 and 2021.
However, BTS did not win Top Billboard Global Artist, Top Billboard Global Song or Top Rock Song. The Top Social Artist award was scrapped this year.
BTS were unable to attend the award ceremony due to their schedule. They are busy preparing for their new release, "Proof," due out on June 10. They took to social media to express their gratitude to fans and the Billboard Music Awards for the accolades.
