Sick Children Latest Beneficiaries of Actress Lee Young-ae's Largesse

Actress Lee Young-ae donated W100 million to the Ambulance Wish Foundation last Saturday to help bed-ridden children with cancer or rare diseases (US$1=W1,267).

The foundation fulfills the wishes of terminally ill patients to go on an outing with the help of ambulance drivers and volunteers.

The donation will be used to buy ambulances exclusively for child patients.

This is only the latest in Lee's long list of donations to charitable causes. In 2014 she paid W100 million worth of hospital bills for a Taiwanese woman who gave birth prematurely. Last year, she donated W100 million to help children who experienced domestic violence and W200 million to help people suffering from the coronavirus pandemic.

She recently donated W100 million to help Ukrainians suffering due to Russia’s invasion of the country and sent a letter of consolation.
