Ryu Hyun-jin of Toronto Blue Jays Leaves Mound Early in 1st Game of Season

    Ryu Hyun-jin of the Toronto Blue Jays struggled in his first game of the season, leaving the mound early.

    In a home game against the Texas Rangers at Rogers Centre in Toronto on Sunday, Ryu allowed five hits including one home run, and two walks, giving up six earned runs while striking out four batters in three and 1/3 innings.

    The Blue Jays were leading the game 6-1 until the third inning but things went wrong in the fourth and Ryu was pulled from the game early, eventually leading to a 12-6 loss.

    Meanwhile, Kim Ha-seong of the San Diego Padres got his first hit of the season in an away game against the Arizona Diamondbacks the same day and Choi Ji-man of the Tampa Bay Rays had two hits in a home game against the Baltimore Orioles, helping their teams win.
