Yoon Speaks with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy

President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy over the phone on Tuesday.

They discussed issues pending between the two countries during the conversation, according to the office of Yoon's spokesperson.

No details of the call were made public, however. "It is difficult to provide details of their conversation because Ukraine is currently in a state of war," the spokesperson said. 

It is speculated that Zelenskyy asked Yoon to support Ukraine's effort to repel the invasion of his country by Russia.

"Thanked the people of the Republic of Korea for their support of Ukraine," Zelenskyy tweeted after the phone conversation. "Wished the President-elect success in his future responsible activities and expressed conviction in further fruitful cooperation!"
