The World Baseball Classic will return next year after being canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Major League Baseball and its players' association agreed to bring the global event back.
The WBC is a quadrennial international tournament between professional baseball leagues. The event has not been held since 2017, but tournaments are now scheduled for both 2023 and 2026 after last year's disruption, according to MLB.
The number of participating teams will be expanded from 16 to 20.
Korea's best performance so far is its second-place finish in 2009.
